If you need us to study your Alpha Four application and recommend solutions, we provide a consulting service for a flat fee.  This service starts with our arranging for you to send us your application files and ends with our recommendation.  The service takes usually a week of elapsed time.

This service takes the following steps:

STEP 1.  TELL US ABOUT YOUR APPLICATION

STEP 2.  SEND US FILES OF YOUR APPLICATION

We need a copy of your Alpha Four program files and data files so that we can study your application in our computer.  There are two ways for us to get these files:

(1) You copy your Alpha Four files onto a CD or DVD disk and mail the disk to us.  (We will guide you through this process by e-mail or by phone.)

(2) If you have pcAnywhere (a remote access software from Symantec) installed in your computer, instead of your sending us the disk, we can access your computer on-line and copy your files into our computer directly.  (If you have security concern, please read our confidentiality statement.)

We study your application thoroughly.  During the study we may contact you for more information.

STEP 4.  MAKE RECOMMENDATION

We make recommendation after the study.  The recommendation generally falls in the following categories:

1. Correct the Alpha Four application to make it work properly and enhance it so that it will provide the additional functionalities in your wish list. This solution is usually the least expensive, least interruptive, and fastest.

2. Rewrite the application in Access or SQL Server from scratch.  If YYnet is selected to perform this task, we would save time for all parties by analyzing the program code of the existing Alpha Four application and rewriting in Access or SQL Server based on what we have learned from the Alpha Four program code.  This solution, when compared with Solution 1, tends to be more costly and take more time.  (This statement is by no means intended to discourage you from taking this solution.)

3. Combination of 1 and 2. This means that you would use the Alpha Four application (after it is corrected and enhanced) as a "front end" for data entry and data search, and use a new Access or SQL Server application to perform other tasks.  To facilitate the integration, we could write a "bridge program" to enable Alpha Four data to enter into Access or SQL Server files automatically and seamlessly.
